Posted by | Posted in Architecture, Home Improvement, Renovation | Posted on 11-11-2009

I know most of the people like to spend a part of their day somewhere outdoor; having a beautiful yard in the house is a best choice for dining if you seek outdoor fun. So that’s why today I will give you few tips about how to make your outdoor, specially the yard more enjoyable & best for night parties & summer brunches. Old home designs came up with large yard, with the passage of time the latest designs in houses of big cities; we find limited yard space for outdoor activities. So now it’s all you have to do to make it look more spacious with your renovating & arrangements of furniture.

First of all you have to assume the no of people you seek to accommodate in your yard. After this remove all unnecessary things from the entry & exits. Designing the furniture for yards is depends upon the space available but I always prefer simple & easy to assemble furniture for outdoor, you can also go for folding chairs & big central dining table, while choosing simple benches for sitting is also trends these days. Make sure that your design looks natural, don’t use dark paints on walls. Add few plants in the corners & hang a big lightening globe in the middle of the roof if your yard has the roof top.

I believe with little effort you can make an elegant outdoor entertainment area in your home. You didn’t require spending big money on it. Working smartly worth more then investing extra money on decoration & renovation.

In modern architectural concepts, the bathrooms design & sanitary products for houses & residential apartments are considered the most costly segment in the whole parent project. Yes! the latest bathrooms concepts will amazed you. they are like a place where you can relax your tired bodies. it gives you a wonderful luxurious experience. now its all depends upon you that how much budget you allocate for your bathroom renovation.

Shower is the main part of every conventional bathroom. today i want to write about steam showers. do you remember how amazing it was when you take a steam bath at the hotel where you stay at your last holidays trip? what a great idea to do steam bathing at your home now. its all about a little extra bucks that you will be required to spend on your bathroom. some tips i want to give you if you decided to go for a steam shower is make sure that the walls & roof of your bathrooms is not effected with steam, i didn’t recommend steam shower for houses at which there is extensive wooden work in the ceiling & walls as it develop mildew. there are many types of steam showers available in the market. almost all of them have multiple showerheads & temperature control menu. normally the portion for taking shower is a small vapor-tight room in the corner. Steam showers is highly recommended by interior designers as it acts as a stress release place in most of the cases. i believe its a good investment to spent a little on your washroom to make it a luxurious place.

If you are running a private business then the design, decoration & furniture your office is very important as it reflects your first impression to your clients. I always stressed up the term “first impression is the last impression” yes! When it came to business you have to develop an impressive first impression to your client.

Conventional office furniture includes, a office table, chairs, files cabinets & documents locker. I believe this has no value to impress your clients. You have to add extra sugar. In fact after the completion of my recent renovation project I revealed that it is very important for the office the remain neat. Secondly your office must have a color theme. & most importantly the smart furniture. By smart I means that you have to choose the suitable one, rather the buying the conventional office furniture you can design the furniture yourself. I know this will cost you a little more but it looks quite decent at your office. It will be the best one in comfort & the smarter in look.

Choosing the best furniture also depends upon the size of your office, the latest trends is choosing medium size office furniture. The chairs are coated with lather rather then fabrics & the color of furniture is according to wall theme of the office.

Carpet cleaning, How to make it tidy?

Posted by | Posted in Accomodation, Architecture, Home Improvement, Real Estate, Renovation | Posted on 12-10-2009

Carpet cleaning is a hassle in most of the cases if you are living in a house with carpeted floor. This is one of the reason why some people are reluctant to opt a carpeted floor in their house. However carpeted floor looks more luxury & colorful, they are good in comfort & less in cost as compare to any high class wooden or marble floor. But when we talk about cleaning it, you find it difficult to manage the carpet clean & tidy thought-out its useful life. So ultimately after the couple of years you ended up with changing the whole carpet with the new one in your house.

This is especially true if you stain the carpet or it gets dirty due to some wear and tear. Conventional carpet cleaners are good but you can’t consider this a solution for cleaning in the long term. For instance your cleaning machine is more active in cleaning when new, so renting is sometimes a clever way around this.

For luxury houses I always recommend persons with good carpet cleaning skills to clean the carpeted floor once every few months, or at least once every six months or so. This will keep the room smelling and looking good, also will keep dust mites to a minimum. This is especially important if you have asthma or a sensitivity to dust.

Some of my clients have good experience with HSS carpet cleaner rental. They are good even you have a limited budget for carpet cleaning as you can rent by the day, weekend or for a longer period. By completing the work yourself, you will also be saving a great deal of money in the long run and have a clean carpet to go with it. Good luck and get cleaning!

One interesting thing about maintaining your private swimming pool at home is that you are fee to renovate it, interior designers are very interactive in designing the right swimming pool for you. just tell them your budget, the space & the your idea about the swimming pool & they will came up with the best one. i have certain project for designing the pool area.. infact it adds extra beauty to your home outdoor location. i know most of the people prefer to arrange their social parties besides the pool side, so its good to have a space for changing room & a small kitchen besides the pool, if you construct a small open-air hut for cooking like bar b q then it is also good as this is the modern architectural concept for the swimming pool these days.

Having a warming & sparkling effect in your bedroom or drawing room at cold nights is one of the best thing man can consider in his house. i know electric heaters or central heating pipes are one of the well know solution for this but if you need something attractive & romantic, the beauty & memories a fireplace can bring in, i bet no other thing can do it in your house. modern fireplaces are very attractive, there was a time when fireplaces are limited to luxury houses. now you can easily manage a fireplace at your small apartments aswell, all you need is a proper plan for designing the right fireplace for you..Here i would like to warn you about some serious health hazardous that a fireplace can cause. the only thing you need to care about it is to give a little space for air ventilation while the fire is on. I always recommend my clients that use electrically operated fireplaces, never use coal to fire the chimney. & yes! it is not good to let the fire burning while you are sleeping. now just look into the picture above. how attractive the fireplace looks below the central decor work of the drawing room.

Carpeted or hard floor? mind your needs

Posted by | Posted in Accomodation, Bed room, Home Improvement, Renovation | Posted on 14-09-2009

One of the major mistakes people make while renovating their house is to avoid looking in to there requirements before making a major decisions. Yes carpet is one of them; I have seen many homeowners who without any particular requirement want for carpeted floor in their house. When I ask them why they choose carpets rather then shiny & tidy tiles in floor, most of them replied this is because our neighbor did this. Pretty hilarious!! This article is therefore an overview about the pro & cons of carpets in your home, so you can easily understand your requirements before going to make any floor renovation.

I recommend carpets for houses which are built in areas where temperature is low the whole year. Carpets are ideal to use in bedrooms & drawing rooms in hilly areas. In one hand it gives a luxurious look to the house while of the other hand it makes the house warm in extreme winter seasons. Carpeted floor can provide a good level of comfort to you especially in winters. Carpeted floor are also good for houses where there are no small children in your family, as cleaning carpets is a hassle & I bet there is no carpet yet available that remains plush forever. So you will end each year with a old & dirty carpets. That no more looks great on the floor of your house.

Hard floor is good for cities specially. It’s easy to clean, good for environment & health friendly as well. I have seen many people who are allergic from carpeted floor. For hot areas marbles tiles are ideal to use in floor as it resist heat at a good level. It also looks fabulous. I believe investing on expensive tiling for floor is good decision. it serves you for a long time. Most of the carpets in a big family house need to be replaced after few years.

Finding The Right Roofing Contractor

Posted by | Posted in Architecture, Home Improvement, Property, Real Estate, Renovation | Posted on 13-09-2009

If you own a home, odds are that you’ll have to hire a roofing contractor for repairs at some time. Finding a good roofer can be a time-consuming and frustrating process, but that’s where the BBB (Better Business Bureau) comes in. Their job is to handle complaints and concerns from unhappy customers, and help customer and contractor to resolve disputes professionally and amicably. A good way to find an honest roofer is to check their record with your local BBB.

GAF Master Elite Roofing Contractor Craig Owens owns and operates a referral site called Owens Roofing that seeks to connect customers and roofing contractors. Before you hire a roofer, you should be absolutely certain that they are fully licensed and insured. Licensing and insurance helps protect you from bad work and dishonest business practices. After a storm has caused heavy damage, many so-called “contractors” will attempt to get away with doing subpar work, or will take the customer’s money and not do any work at all. That’s why good word-of-mouth and a clean BBB record are so important when you’re looking for a roofer.

All roofers, before they are certified to work, must take some intensive courses and difficult examinations. This process will make sure that the contractor is competent, reliable, and honest. When you’re choosing a roofing contractor, don’t just rely on good references from friends and neighbors- check their credentials and their Better Business Bureau complaint record yourself.

Environment friendly & energy saving home.

Posted by | Posted in Accomodation, Architecture, Home Improvement, Pets, Renovation | Posted on 06-09-2009

There was a time when the concept of energy saving & natural environment protection was not much familiar. During the construction of home people didn’t appreciate environment friendly strategies due to lack of knowledge & awareness. Environment protection was just a topic in books but practically it has no deployment. So as the technology makes progress we face several problems in our natural environment system. As a matter of fact today almost every third person is damaging the environment in some way. Now the time has arrived to think collectively for the protection of environment & saving the energy consumption in our houses.

We can contribute to the environment friendly campaign if we noticed & managed few things in our house accordingly. For example, solar water geezers & some solar cooking solutions are available in the market now. Though it’s a bit expensive in start but if it saves your electricity & bill in your entire life & provide you an affecting solution, & most importantly protects environment & save energy then why not to opt it. One the other hand grow as many trees in your garden as you can, though I am not convincing you with a crazy tip to fill up your swimming pool with soil & grow a tree. It is however good to have more tress in all the corners of the house.
